Our Company
Crown Hill Materials was built on a strong foundation of trust and loyalty, much like the many icons in the bay area that it serves. Our history goes back to the 70's, when the location was started by a local entrepreneur with a passion for providing high quality landscape products. The original owners built the business as a lateral expansion of their landscape contracting business, but rapidly became their main focus. The original name was "Broadway Nursery" and along with the many hardscapes products the location also carried a large variety of plants.
In the early 1990's the establishment was purchased by the current owner. At the time the business was closed, and the current owner started from scratch to build up the business to the level it is today. The new owner changed the name of the business to "Vallejo Nursery", and later to Crown Hill Materials. As the company grew the new owner focused more on hardscapes and began serving the do-it yourselfer, the landscape contractor, professional designers, masons, and concrete/ready-mix contractors.
In 2003 Crown Hill Materials added a state of the art Trailer Haul concrete plant that was also able to fill a small delivery truck and began providing customers with high quality ready-mixed concrete. From this plant customers are able to haul concrete in our dumping one yard trailers and take it to their projects with ease. Crown Hill Materials did extensive research before choosing a plant and worked with the manufacturer to make some modifications to the final plant. The result, a plant none like any other in the market. All so we can manufacture high quality ready-mix concrete for our customer day in and day out.
As the demand for delivered concrete grew, the decision was made to install a larger Transit-Mix plant to service the needs of our customers. In 2004, Crown Hill Materials installed its modern, computer controlled batch plant. The trucks were upgraded to larger ones that could carry more concrete to the job, yet be small enough for residential streets. From this plant we can service larger projects, have more mix design options, provide colored decorative concrete, and all at very competitive prices.
Later the company was incorporated to Crown Hill Materials, LLC and today provides natural thin stone veneer, Interlocking Pavers, Segmental Retaining walls, Cultured stone Veneers, Clay bricks, cast products, Natural stone, Flagstone, Natural Pavers, Decorative barks, Decorative stones, sands, Soils mixes, landscape lighting, ready mix concrete, trailer haul concrete, concrete tools, accessories, and much more..
