Pennsylvania Bluestone is widely used for interior and exterior purposes in many parts of North America as well as Japan and several other developing countries. Bluestone is colorful, it’s durable in many climates and has a natural non-skid quality making it a sought after stone for commercial and residential projects.

One of the most popular uses of bluestone is for outdoor patios. This bluestone flagstone is quarried, cut and separated in layers at the quarry; this type of bluestone flagstone is called “Natural Cleft.” One of the main characteristics of Natural cleft flagstone is its varied surface that may range +/ – ¼”. At Crown Hill Materials, we group like-thickness flagstone pieces together to make purchasing and installation easier for the customer. Our thickness categories are ½”, 1”, 1 ½” and 2 to 2 ½” with normal pattern sizing for patios from 12” x 12” up to 24” x 36”. Larger sizes are also available on a regular basis.This natural cleft bluestone flagstone is available in blue, lilac and full color. Full color bluestone may range from browns and reds to green-grays and will offer the most color in bluestone patio stone.
